Проєкт «Підвищення життєстійкості постраждалих від війни українців шляхом надання засобів до існування, грошової допомоги та послуг захисту»

International Organization HealthRight International (Right to Health) in Ukraine and the charitable foundation established by it, the Ukrainian Foundation for Public Health, have been working since 2005 to ensure access to vital medical and social services for vulnerable populations. These groups include women and girls affected by gender-based and domestic violence, people living with HIV, at-risk adolescents, internally displaced persons, youth in conflict with the law, individuals subjected to torture, sexual violence, or exploitation. Particular attention is given to creating a safe environment for receiving assistance, strengthening resilience, and protecting human rights

BACKGROUND

On 24th February 2022 Russia started the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, which resulted in massive destructions of civil and infrastructure buildings, and led to the largest human displacement crisis in the world. According to UN, every third Ukrainian was forced to leave his/her house to find a safe place for living. Moreover, many of forced internally displaced persons have suffered violence and torture on the temporarily occupied territories, therefore they need psychological aid and special attention

ABOUT THE PROJECT

Проєктом передбачено функціонування 1 Соціальної квартири (у Києві). Цей заклад надає такі послуги: проживання; продукти харчування, вода, засоби гігієни, медикаменти; психологічна, інформаційна, соціальна й освітня допомога; спеціальна допомога дітям, зокрема, підтримка здоров’я, навчання, розвиток.

Target groups:

people in difficult life circumstances

The Social Apartment provides services for pregnant women and young mothers with children in difficult life circumstances due to domestic violence, risky behavior or displacement due to the armed conflict in Ukraine. We offer support to women and girls who have survived violence, do not have safe housing or cannot provide for their children. Our Social Apartment is one of the few facilities that accepts women without documents. The shelter can accommodate up to 6 mothers and 7 children at a time.

Social workers conduct both individual and group consultations with adults (parents, guardians) and children. Non-formal education activities for children and various master classes, trainings in art therapy are also held to stabilize the psycho-emotional state of people. In addition, based on an assessment of the needs of women/children, social workers refer beneficiaries to appropriate specialists/institutions to receive specialized services, public services (medical, legal), state assistance, and if necessary, accompany beneficiaries to such specialists/institutions.
