💔 War leaves its mark not only on the front lines. It penetrates every home where loved ones are awaited, and every family trying to carry on despite the pain, anxiety, and uncertainty. Mental health and psychosocial support are now the foundation without which neither individual recovery nor national recovery is possible.
🟡 The ICF 'Ukrainian Foundation for Public Health' is implementing a project in partnership with the international organization Dignity titled “Strengthening Civil Society Capacity to Expand Access to Mental Health and Psychosocial Support, as well as Justice and Redress for Victims of Torture, War Crimes, and Human Rights Violations in Ukraine.”
🔺 As part of the project, our team met with representatives of the civil society organization “Fayta,” which works with military personnel and their family members.
During the meeting, we discussed:
✔️ Sharing experiences in working with military personnel and their loved ones, as each organization develops unique approaches worth passing on.
✔️ Coordinating activities so that efforts do not overlap but complement one another, reaching more people.
✔️ Optimizing the referral of beneficiaries so that a person seeking help receives it as quickly as possible and in a place where they will be provided with exactly what they need.
✔️ Expanding access to support for those who need it most today.
⬆️ The meeting participants identified specific areas for future collaboration and agreed on mechanisms for cooperation that will enable both organizations to work in a coordinated and effective manner.
🫂 We are convinced that a sustainable support system cannot be built alone. It emerges when organizations are willing to share their experiences, openly discuss challenges, and seek solutions together.
