Julia's Story: A Journey from Guilt and Fear to Strength

➡️ Julia (name changed) works in the service industry. Her days consist of constant conversation and smiles, which she sometimes has to put on even when she feels completely different inside. A year ago, she began to notice how she was gradually losing her strength: her sleep became fitful, she felt constantly tired, and anxiety plagued her day and night.
😔 Explosions were a frequent occurrence in Lozova back then. Whereas Yulia had previously found solace in the familiar things in life — her work, conversations, simple daily joys — over time, fear and anxiety became a constant presence in her life. Another heavy emotion joined them: guilt. Guilt for finding it hard. For feeling like she “can’t cope.” For the fact that others seem stronger.
📲 One day, scrolling through her social media feed, Julia happened to see a post about the “Protect Her Together” Safe Space for Women and Girls. She hesitated for a long time, but decided to give it a try.
🫂 Her first visit was nerve-wracking. But the specialists at the space welcomed her warmly and without judgment. After consulting with a psychologist, Julia felt for the first time in many months that she was truly being heard and understood.
🎨 Art therapy and psychogymnastics sessions became tools that helped her reconnect with herself and her desires. Gradually, her sleep returned, her anxiety subsided, and with it, her belief in her own strength.
🔵 Today, Julia says: it was the support of the Safe Space specialists that helped her get through the hardest period.
🙌 Her story is a reminder that even where explosions echo nearby, there can be a place where a woman finds support and strength.
