The creation of a Barnahus center is always the result of synergy and coordinated work to create a safe space for children who have suffered or witnessed violence. On March 9, the team of the future Barnahus center in Khmelnytskyi region, together with prosecutors, investigators, and specialists from the child welfare service, visited the Barnahus center in Chernivtsi on a study visit.
The exchange of experience between regions is the most effective way to ensure the successful launch of new centers. For the team from Khmelnytskyi, this visit was an important continuation of the two-day training, as it allowed them to see how theoretical algorithms are implemented in the daily practice of their colleagues from Chernivtsi.
During the visit, participants not only familiarized themselves with the work of the center, but also followed the route that a child takes at Barnahus: from the entrance to the space – and to the procedural actions. This experience helped them to better understand how a safe, child-friendly environment is created.
Using the example of the Chernivtsi center, the specialists saw how a well-designed space, well-established processes, and interagency cooperation work toward the main goal: reducing the re-traumatization of children and providing them with the most sensitive support possible.
An important part of the visit was open professional communication with colleagues who already have practical experience. Such meetings not only help to find effective solutions to daily challenges, but also strengthen interregional cooperation between teams that are jointly developing this model in Ukraine.
Together, we are building a future where every child is protected!
